覚え方のコツ
post- は postwar などと同じく「〜の後」、operative は operation「手術」と結びつけると分解しやすいです。つまり postoperative はそのまま「operation の後に関する」→「術後の」。医療では postoperative care, postoperative pain, postoperative recovery の形で頻出。対になるのは preoperative「術前の」。operative 単独は「手術の」以外の意味もありますが、post- が付くとほぼ医療文脈だと押さえると定着しやすいです。
