再現された
解説 Definition
reproduced は、元の物・内容・結果に合うように再び作られたり得られたりした「再現された」という状態を表します。絵画や音の再現、実験結果の再現などに使います。
Reproduced describes something created, copied, generated, or obtained again so that it matches an original object, sound, condition, or result. It is especially used for copies of artworks and media or for experimental findings successfully obtained by another investigation.
使い方 Usage
- a reproduced painting「再現された絵画」のように名詞の前で使い、元の物に合わせて作られた状態を説明します。 Use reproduced before a noun, as in a reproduced painting, to describe something made to match an original.
- 実験結果については、results were reproduced by another team で「結果が別のチームによって再現された」と表せます。 For experimental findings, results were reproduced by another team means that another team obtained matching results.
覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
re-「再び」+ produce「生み出す」から「もう一度生み出された」と覚えましょう。reproduce の語末の e に -d を付けた形で、子音は重ねません。語尾の -d は /t/ と発音します。
Connect re- (“again”) with produce: something reproduced has been brought forth again. Add -d to reproduce without doubling a consonant. The ending is pronounced /t/ because reproduce ends in the /s/ sound.
例文
The reproduced painting looked almost identical to the original.
再現された絵画はオリジナルとほぼ同じに見えました。
The experiment results were successfully reproduced by another team.
実験結果は別のチームによって再現されました。

reproduced の語源・成り立ち Etymology
reproduced は reproduce の過去分詞形で、ラテン語 re-「再び」+ producere「前へ導き出す」にさかのぼります。produce や product と同根で、もともと「もう一度生み出す」なので、「再現された・複製された」という意味になります。
Reproduced is formed from reproduce plus the past-participle ending -d. Reproduce entered English from re-, meaning “again,” and produce, ultimately from Latin prōdūcere, “to lead or bring forward.” That Latin verb combines prō-, “forward,” with dūcere, “to lead.” The underlying idea is therefore bringing something forth again. Its modern uses include making a copy, recreating a sound or image, generating the same experimental result, and producing offspring.
