street は古英語 stræt を経た語で、起源はラテン語 strata via「舗装された道」です。strata は sternere「敷き広げる」から来ており、stratum や substrate も同根なので、street がもとは石を敷いて人が整えた道を指したと腑に落ちます。
Agree comes through Old French from a Latin-based form built from ad, "to," and gratum, "pleasing" or "welcome." Its early sense was being pleasing or acceptable, and then it developed into being of one mind. With to, it points to the thing accepted or consented to.
