物質が固体から気体に直接変化する化学変化。または心理学において、本能的欲動を社会的に受け入れられた活動に転換すること。
To sublimate means to change directly from a solid into a gas without becoming liquid first. In psychology, it can also mean to redirect strong feelings or desires into a more acceptable activity. The scientific meaning is more common in technical use.
