災害、社会混乱、非常時などを想定し、生き延びるための知識や備えを重視する人を指します。備蓄、野外生活技能、自給自足などを実践する場合がありますが、必ずしも文明から離れて暮らす人に限りません。
A survivalist is a person who prepares seriously for dangerous situations or long periods without normal services. They may learn outdoor skills, store food, or plan for disasters and emergencies. The word is often used when talking about self-reliance and emergency preparation.
