まず explain「説明する」が見えれば中心の意味は取れます。そこに -able「〜できる」が付いて explainable で「説明できる」、さらに un- が付いて逆転し「説明できない」。形が長くても、un / explain / able の3つに切ると覚えやすい語です。mysterious は「不思議な」、strange は「変な」と感じた印象寄りですが、unexplainable は「なぜそうなるのか理屈で説明できない」という点が核。an unexplainable feeling / event のようによく出ます。
