解説 Definition
建物の外壁に沿って張り出した、屋根付きで手すりのあるくつろげる空間です。居住空間の延長として、屋外で腰掛けたりくつろいだりするのに使われます。雨や直射日光を避けながら外の空気を感じられる場所です。
A veranda is a covered open area along the outside of a house, usually on the ground floor. People use the word for a space where they can sit outside while still being partly sheltered.
