〜の間
解説 Definition
whilst は「〜している間に」「〜する一方で」を表す接続詞で、二つの出来事が同時に起こることを示す。while とほぼ同義だが、より英国的で、ややフォーマルまたは文語的な響きをもつため、書き言葉や落ち着いた調子の会話で見られる。
Whilst means during the time that something else is happening, or although there is a contrast. It is used mainly in British English and is more formal than while. In everyday American English, while is much more common.
