cack は中英語 cakken「排便する」にさかのぼり、オランダ語 kakken などと並ぶ幼児語・擬音語的な俗語です。はっきりした接頭辞分解はありませんが、もとは「うんち・排泄」を表す語だったため、そこから排泄に関わる部位、つまり肛門やその周辺を指す下品な言い方にもなりました。caca や cac も近縁です。
Cack goes back to Middle English cakken, meaning to defecate, and it belongs to a group of crude, nursery-like words also seen in Dutch kakken. It does not break neatly into older parts, because it seems to be a simple sound-based vulgar word. It first referred to excrement or the act of passing it, and later broadened into rude terms for the backside or anal area; caca is a related form.
