覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
核は convey「運ぶ・伝える」。ここでは物ではなく ownership や title を法的に“運ぶ”感覚で、家や土地の権利を売り手から買い手へ移す手続きだと押さえると覚えやすいです。conveyance だけでも譲渡の意味がありますが、conveyancing はその実務・書類作成・確認を含む手続き全体の響き。transportation の「運搬」と混同せず、property sale, transfer of title, solicitor という不動産取引の場面と一緒に記憶すると残ります。
Use the core word `convey`, meaning to carry or transfer. In this case, think of property ownership being legally carried from one person to another. `Conveyancing` sounds technical because it refers to the whole legal process, not just one simple transfer.

conveyancing の語源・成り立ち Etymology
conveyancing は convey + -ance + -ing から成る語です。convey は英仏語 conveier、さらに俗ラテン語 *conviare「道をともに行く」< com-「共に」+ via「道」に由来し、「権利を運ぶ」感覚から不動産譲渡手続きの意味になり、convey や convoy も関連語です。
Conveyancing comes from convey with the endings -ance and -ing. Convey came through Old French from a Late Latin form related to com- "together" and via "road," with the basic sense of accompanying or carrying along the way; convoy is related. From the idea of carrying something from one person to another, it developed into the legal transfer of property rights.
