極端に狂った、または非常に不合理な精神状態のことです。正常な思考から完全に逸脱した状態を表現する言葉です。
Craziness means very wild, foolish, or unreasonable behavior, ideas, or activity. In casual English, it can describe confusion, excitement, or lack of control, and it is not always serious. Depending on context, it can sound playful or strongly critical.

craziness は crazy + -ness。crazy は中英語 crasen「砕く・ひびを入れる」にさかのぼり、「心にひびが入った」という比喩から「正気でない」になった。crazed や craze にも同じ「ひび割れ」の発想が残る。
Craziness comes from crazy plus the noun ending -ness. Crazy goes back to Middle English crasen, meaning "to break" or "to crack."
