表向きには誠実そうに振る舞いながら、内心では別の意図を持ち、人を欺くような性質を表す形容詞。相手によって話や態度を変えることが多く、信用できない、不誠実な人物や行動について使われる。
If a person is duplicitous, they act in a dishonest way and show different faces to different people. The word is often used for someone who hides their real intentions or says one thing while meaning another.
