insincere はラテン語 sincerus「清い、混じりけのない」に由来し、in-「否定」+ sincere と見れば核がつかめます。もとは「純粋でない」が、そこから「心がこもらない、不誠実な」へ発展しました。sincerity や sincerely も同じ語根です。
Insincere comes from Latin sincerus, meaning "clean," "pure," or "unmixed," with in- adding the negative sense. It first carried the idea of not being pure or genuine.
