無気力とは、エネルギー、動機付け、または行動する意欲が不足している状態を表しています。精神的または肉体的な活力の欠如で、やる気がなく、関心が低い様子です。

lethargy はギリシャ語 lethargia に由来し、lethe「忘却」と argos「働かない」から成る語です。つまり「忘れて動けない状態」で、ergon「仕事」を共有する energy や ergonomics を見ると、不活発さの理由がよくわかります。
