解説 Definition
古代イランの宗教における神格「ミトラ」で、特に契約・盟約・社会秩序と結び付けられます。後には光や太陽とも関連付けられます。
Mithra is an ancient Iranian divinity associated especially with covenants, agreements, and social order, and later also with light and the sun. The name is related to, but should not be automatically equated with, the Roman god Mithras; a ceremonial bishop’s hat is normally called a mitre or miter.
