If you know `recent`, then `recently` is easy: `-ly` turns it into an adverb. It helps to connect it with whole events, as in `I recently moved` or `Recently, prices have changed`. Keep it separate from `just now`, which is much more immediate.

recently は recent + -ly で、recent はラテン語 recens「新しい、できたての」に由来します。recency や recentness も同根で、「まだ新しさが残る時期に」がそのまま「最近」へつながると見ると、recently の時間感覚がつかみやすくなります。
