sectional は、全体ではなく特定の区分・部門・地域などに関することを表す形容詞。分析や利害関係については「部門別の」「区域ごとの」という意味で使われるほか、図面や工学の文脈では「断面の」「断面図の」という意味でも用いられる。
Sectional means divided into separate parts, sections, or groups. It is often used for things like furniture, plans, drawings, or competitions that are organized by area or category. In technical contexts, it can also describe a view that shows the inside of something as if it were cut through.

section を知っていれば覚えやすい語です。中心イメージは「全体を一つではなく、section（区分・部分）ごとに見る」。なので sectional analysis なら「部門別分析」、sectional interests なら「全体より自分の部門の利害」。図や工学では sectional view で「断面図」のように、切って中を見る場面でも使います。general が全体的なのに対し、sectional はあくまで区分単位。sectoral と少し似ますが、sectional のほうがより広く「区分ごと」の感覚で押さえると残りやすいです。
