unconcerned は un-「〜でない」+ concerned。concern はラテン語 concernere にさかのぼり、語幹 cernere は「見分ける」で discern も同根です。自分に関わるものとして心に引っかけていない状態なので、「無関心な」「気にかけていない」へつながります。
Unconcerned combines un- with concerned. Concern comes from Latin concernere, which originally meant something like "to mix together" or "to relate closely," and it later developed the sense of being involved with or affecting someone.
