An undercard is the group of smaller sports matches that happen before the main event. It is most often used in boxing, wrestling, and similar competitions. These matches are usually less important than the main match.

under は「下」、card は試合カードだと捉えると覚えやすいです。興行の対戦表で、目玉の main event や main card より下の欄に置かれる試合群が undercard。特にボクシングや総合格闘技で頻出で、「本番前に観客を温める」「メインを待つ間に行われる複数試合」という場面ごと覚えると残ります。card 単独でも「対戦カード」を表すので、紙の下段に載る試合というイメージで固定すると忘れにくいです。
