上陸作戦で確保した海岸の拠点。転じて、新しい分野への足がかりや拠点を意味する。
A beachhead is an area on a coast that soldiers capture and hold after landing from the sea. It is used as a starting point for moving further inland. The word is also used more generally for a small but important first position in a new market or field.
