concretely の語源・成り立ち Etymology
concretely は concrete に -ly が付いた語で、concrete はラテン語 concretus「一緒に固まった」に由来し、con-「共に」+ crescere「成長する」から成ります。抽象的なものが寄り集まり、形をもって固まる感覚です。increase や crescent も同じ crescere 系で、「具体的に」が「輪郭を帯びて見える」に結びつきます。
