解説 Definition
金属や木、石などの表面に線や模様、文字を刃物などで彫り込むこと、またはそのようにして作られた図柄や装飾を指す語。宝飾品や銘板の細工にも使われ、版に彫って刷る版画の技法や作品を指すこともある。
