関節を曲げる動作、または曲がった状態を指します。肘や膝などで、関節を曲げて骨どうしの角度が小さくなる動きに使われます。
Flexion is the movement of bending a body part, especially at a joint. It is used in medicine, anatomy, and exercise to describe motions such as bending the knee, elbow, or fingers. The opposite movement is called extension.

flex- を flexible「曲がりやすい」とセットで押さえると、flexion は「曲げること」という名詞だと取りやすいです。解剖では extension「伸ばすこと」と対で覚えるのが最短で、elbow flexion, knee flexion のように「関節を曲げる動作」でよく出ます。形が少し変わる話ではなく、体の一部を実際に bend する運動だと意識すると定着しやすいです。reflex の -flex も同じ語根なので、flex 系は「曲がる」仲間としてまとめて覚えると忘れにくくなります。
