Geocentric means based on the idea that the Earth is at the center. It is most often used in astronomy, history of science, or technical discussions about systems that describe movement from the Earth's point of view.
覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
geo- は geography や geology の geo と同じで「地球」。-centric は center を思い出せば「中心に置く」という感覚で取れるので、geocentric = 「地球を中心に置いた」。覚えるときは heliocentric（太陽中心の）と必ず対にするのが有効。天文学では geocentric model → heliocentric model への転換として並べると定着しやすい。egocentric のように「何を中心に見るか」を表す -centric 語族の一員として覚えると応用が利く。
