舞台前面の額縁状の枠
解説 Definition
劇場で、客席から見た舞台の前面を額縁のように囲む構造物や開口部を指す名詞。いわゆるプロセニアムアーチのことで、舞台と客席の境界をはっきりさせ、観客に舞台を一つの画面のように見せる役割を持つ。
A proscenium is the large frame-like structure at the front of a theater stage. It separates the stage from the audience and is mainly used when talking about traditional theater design.
