re- はラテン語由来で「再び」、frame はゲルマン系で「枠にはめる・形作る」に通じます。つまり reframe は「枠をもう一度作り直す」で、物だけでなく考え方を別の見方で捉え直す意味になりました。関連語は frame, framework です。
