摂政とは、君主が幼少、病気、不在などの理由で政務を行えない場合に、代わりに統治を行う人物または役職を指します。通常、王族や貴族が任命され、正式な君主に代わって権力を行使します。歴史的に重要な役割を果たしてきた制度です。
