strategical はフランス語 stratégique とギリシャ語 stratēgikos に連なり、stratos「軍」+ agein「導く」+ -al と分けられます。つまり『軍を導く人に関する』が出発点で、そこから『戦略的な』の意味になりました。関連語は strategy, strategist。
Strategical comes through French strategique from Greek strategikos. Its Greek roots are stratos, meaning "army," and agein, meaning "to lead," so the original idea was "of a general" or "of leading an army."
