Traceability is the ability to track the history, origin, or movement of something. It is often used in manufacturing, food safety, supply chains, and software. The idea is that you can follow where something came from and what happened to it.

trace を「跡をたどる」、-ability を「〜できること」と分けて、traceability = 「たどれる性質」と固めると覚えやすいです。readability, portability と同じ -ability 型だと気づくと再現しやすくなります。食品や部品なら traceability of food/products、improve traceability の形で出やすく、「問題が起きたときに生産地・工程・流通履歴まで追えるか」を思い浮かべると定着します。transparency が“見えやすさ”なのに対し、traceability は“履歴をさかのぼれること”です。
