覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
`aware` を「気づいている」として先に固定し、`be aware of ...` で「…を認識している」という形ごと覚えると `unaware` はその否定だとすぐ取れます。つまり core は `aware`、`un-` が付いて「気づいていない」。`I was unaware of the problem.` のように `of` を伴いやすいのも重要です。単に facts を知らない `don't know` より、情報や状況に気づいていない・認識していない感じが強いので、その差で整理すると残りやすいです。

unawareは否定のun-とawareから成り、awareは古英語gewær「用心深い・気づいている」にさかのぼります。もとは「警戒して見えている」状態なので、unawareはその感知が外れた状態だと分かり、waryやbewareも同じ語根です。
