支援や援助がない状態や、公式に対応していない状態であることを指します。たとえば古い機器や機能が新しい環境に対応していない場合にも使います。法的・社会的な裏付けがない主張や状況にも使われ、信頼の裏付けがないことを強調する語です。
Unsupported means not helped, accepted, or officially maintained. In technology, it often describes software, devices, or features that no longer receive updates or assistance. In other contexts, it can also mean not backed by proof or evidence.

unsupportedは un-「〜でない」+ support + -ed。supportはラテン語supportareで、sub-「下から」+ portare「運ぶ」から成り、「下から運ぶ」が「支える」になった。だからunsupportedは支えや裏づけがないこと。portableも同根。
Unsupported is built from un-, support, and -ed. Support comes through Latin supportare, from sub- "from below" and portare "to carry," so its oldest image is "carry from underneath." From that sense of giving physical help or backing, unsupported came to mean lacking support, proof, or reinforcement.
