ものや人、状態が前とはちがうようになることを表します。また、何かを前とはちがう形や状態にすることも表します。

change は「前とちがう状態になる・ちがう状態にする」と、変化の前後を二枚の絵で覚えます。秋に緑の葉が赤くなる場面なら Leaves change color. です。主語そのものが変わるときは A changes、何かを変えるときは change A と使い分けます。change from A to B「AからBへ変わる」は特に便利な形です。青空が灰色へ変わる様子を The sky changes from blue to gray. と唱えると、変化の方向まで定着しやすくなります。
