conformable は conform + -able。conform はラテン語 conformare に由来し、con-「共に」+ formare「形づくる」で、原義は「同じ形にする」です。form や reform と同根で、周囲の型に合わせられることから「順応性のある」になりました。
Conformable comes from conform plus -able. Conform comes from Latin conformare, from con- "together" and formare "to shape," so the original idea was "to shape in the same way."
