自分を過度に重要視し、周囲からの賞賛や注目を絶えず求めるような性質を表す形容詞。単に自分本位というだけでなく、自己中心的で自己愛が過剰、時に誇大妄想的だという批判的な含みをもつ。人の言動や態度を非難するときによく使われる。
If someone is egomaniacal, they think about themselves too much and have an extreme belief in their own importance. It is usually used in a negative way for behavior that is very self-centered and full of self-love.
