Impossible or very difficult to read or understand. It is commonly used for handwriting, writing, signals, or speech when the meaning cannot be clearly recognized.

核は decipher「解読する」。そこに否定の in- と「〜できる」の -able が付くので、indecipherable はそのまま「解読できない」と組み立てて覚えられます。indecipherable handwriting / message のように、字が乱れて読めない場合にも、話・信号・意味が複雑で“解けない”場合にも使えるのがポイントです。illegible が主に文字の見えにくさを指しやすいのに対し、indecipherable は内容までつかめない広めの語だと整理すると残りやすいです。
Build it from decipher, meaning to work out or read something difficult. Add in- for "not" and -able for "can be," so the whole word means "cannot be deciphered." Remember the contrast: illegible is hard to read visually, but indecipherable often means you still cannot understand the message.
