Start with `redact` in its older, formal sense of preparing or editing text. Add `un-`, and `unredacted` becomes text that has not been worked on yet, as in `unredacted draft` or `unredacted manuscript`. Think of an early version before revision and polishing.

「unredacted」は否定の接頭辞un-と、ラテン語re-「戻して」+agere「動かす」由来のredact「編集する・黒塗りする」から成る。もとは「整えてまとめる」感覚で、actionやagentも同じagere系なので、「未編集・未墨消し」が腑に落ちる。
Unredacted combines un-, meaning "not," with redacted. Redact comes from Latin redigere, from re- and agere, meaning roughly "to bring back" or "drive into order," and it first meant to arrange or edit into form. Later redact also came to mean removing or hiding text, so unredacted means left in its original, unreduced state.
