will は名詞でも「意志」。助動詞でも中心イメージは同じで、「その方向へ気持ちが向く」と考えると整理しやすい。だから I’ll help. は単なる未来ではなく「手伝うよ」という申し出、I’ll do it. は「やるよ」という約束・意思になる。be going to が予定や既に見えている流れに寄りやすいのに対し、will はその場の判断、予測、申し出で非常によく使う。won’t もただの未来否定ではなく「する気がない」というニュアンスを帯びることがある。

For this use of `will`, remember intention more than future time. In `I will help`, the feeling is often a decision, offer, or promise made by the speaker. `Won't` can also sound like refusal, not just simple future negative.
