伝える
解説 Definition
impart は、知識・情報・助言・印象などを相手に伝えて共有させるときに使う語です。単に言葉を告げるだけでなく、内容が相手の理解や感じ方にまで届くことを含みます。教育、説明、経験から得たものを人に伝達する場面でよく用いられます。
覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
part が見えたら「自分の持ち分を相手に分ける」と考えると覚えやすい語。そこから、物そのものより knowledge, information, wisdom などを「授ける・伝える」に広がる。tell が単に伝える、teach が教えて身につけさせる寄りなのに対し、impart は少しかしこまって「知識や性質を相手に与える」感じ。impart knowledge, impart a lesson, impart a sense of confidence のような形でまとまりで覚えると定着しやすい。
