impart は in-/im-「中へ」と part「分ける・分け前」をもつラテン語 impartire に由来し、元は「一部を分け与える」こと。そこから知識や影響を「相手に授ける」の意味が生まれ、分け前を渡す感覚で覚えると分かりやすい。関連語は part、participate。
