injured はTOEIC 860・TOEFL 80・IELTS 6.5レベルの英単語で、「負傷した」という意味があります。発音記号は /ˈɪndʒɚd/ です。
身体が傷つけられた、または怪我をした状態。戦闘や事故などで負傷した様子を表します。
Injured means physically hurt or harmed, especially in an accident, sport, or attack. It can describe anything from a small injury to a serious condition. It is commonly used for people, but sometimes also for animals.
injure を知っていれば injured はそのまま「傷つけられた状態」の形。injury「けが」とセットで、injure someone / be injured の形までまとめて覚えると残りやすい。hurt よりもニュースや説明文で客観的に「負傷した」と言う感じで、seriously injured, injured in an accident が頻出。wounded は戦闘での負傷に寄りやすいので、injured は事故・スポーツ・災害まで広く使える語、と比べると整理しやすい。
If you know `injure`, then `injured` is easy: it describes the condition after someone is hurt. It often appears in news-style phrases like `seriously injured` or `injured in an accident`. Compare it with `wounded`, which is used more for war or fighting.
The injured boy needs a doctor.
負傷した男の子には医者が必要です。
An injured girl needs help.
負傷した女の子は助けを必要としている。
The injured man needs help.
負傷した男性は助けを必要としています。

injured は injure の過去分詞で、古フランス語を経てラテン語 iniuria「不正・権利侵害」にさかのぼります。in-(否定)+ jus/jur(法・正しさ)から成り、justice や jury と同根で、「不当に害された」ことから「負傷した」になりました。
Injured comes from injure, which passed through Old French from Latin iniuria. The Latin word is built from in- "not" and jus or jur "law" or "right," so it first meant a wrong, injustice, or violation of rights. From the idea of being wronged, the sense later moved toward being harmed physically. Related English words from the same root include justice and jury.
