解説 Definition
悲しみや強い感情のために、息を詰まらせたりしゃくりあげたりしながら泣くことを表す語。単に静かに涙を流すというより、感情がこみ上げて声や呼吸が乱れるような泣き方を指すことが多い。人が深く動揺している場面でよく用いられる。
To sob means to cry in a strong, emotional way, usually with loud breathing sounds. It is used when someone feels deep sadness, shock, or pain. Sob is stronger and more emotional than simply cry.
