嫌悪感や不快感を引き起こす。回避反応を生じさせるような不快な刺激や状況。心理学では、生物が自然に避ける負の刺激を指す。
Aversive describes something that causes dislike, discomfort, or a strong wish to avoid it. It is common in psychology and formal writing, especially when talking about unpleasant experiences or reactions.

averse「〜を嫌う」を知っていると覚えやすいです。a person is averse to X は「人がXを嫌う」、X is aversive は「Xのほうが嫌悪や回避反応を起こさせる」。つまり averse は感じる側、aversive は感じさせる側。心理学では aversive stimulus が頻出で、ただ unpleasant なだけでなく「避けたくなる不快さ」まで含むのがコア。adverse（不利な）とつづりが似るので混同注意。
