建造物

construction の語源・成り立ち Etymology
construction はラテン語 con-「共に」+ struct「積む」+ -ion「こと」で、原義は『部材を積み上げること』。struct は struere「築く」にさかのぼり、structure や instruct と同根なので、『建設』が『要素を組み立てて形にすること』だと分かる。
Construction comes from Latin roots meaning "to pile up or build together": con- "together" and struere "to build." It first referred to the act of assembling parts into a structure. The same root appears in structure and instruct, both carrying the idea of arranging or building something in order.
