enunciate の語源・成り立ち Etymology
enunciate はラテン語 enuntiare『外へ告げる、はっきり述べる』に由来し、e-『外へ』+ nuntiare『知らせる』に分けられる。つまり『内にある語を外へ明瞭に出す』ことで、発音する・明確に述べる意味になった。関連語は announce, renounce。
