To personify means to represent a thing, idea, or quality as if it were a person. It can also mean to be the perfect example of a quality, such as courage or kindness. The word is common in literature, art, and formal description.

person（人）+ -ify（〜にする）で、直感的に「人にする」と捉えると覚えやすい語です。つまり物・動物・概念を、人のように描くこと。文学では nature, death, justice などを主語にして personify A as B の形でよく出ます。personalize が「個人向けにする」なのに対し、personify は「人間らしさを与える」。擬人化の文脈に結びつけて覚えると定着します。
