oral の語源・成り立ち Etymology
oral はラテン語 os, oris「口」からできた oralis に由来し、文字どおり「口に関する」が出発点です。そこから「口で述べる」「書かずに伝える」という意味になり、oral exam や orifice も同じ語根です。
