全体主義、個人の自由を制限して国家権力を絶対化する政治体制。個人の利益よりも国家全体の利益を優先する独裁的な支配体制である。
Totalitarianism is a political system in which the government tries to control almost every part of public and private life. It is usually led by one powerful ruler or party and does not allow real opposition. The word is mainly used in history and politics and has a strongly negative meaning.
