「revoke」はラテン語 revocare にさかのぼり、re-「元へ」+ vocare「呼ぶ」から、いったん出したものを「呼び戻す」が原義です。voice や vocal も同じ voc- を含み、許可や決定を手元へ引き戻す感覚から「取り消す」と分かります。
